Ma'anar ƙamus na kalmar "asana" matsayi ne ko matsayi, musamman wanda aka ɗauka don aikin yoga. Kalmar ta fito daga Sanskrit kuma ana amfani da ita a al'adun Hindu da na Buddha. A cikin yoga, asanas sune matakan jiki da aka tsara don inganta lafiyar jiki, tsabtar tunani, da wayewar ruhaniya.
