"Huxley" verwys tipies na die van van die Engelse skrywer en filosoof, Aldous Huxley, wat veral bekend is vir sy distopiese roman, "Brave New World." Daar word geglo dat die naam "Huxley" self afkomstig is van 'n plek genaamd Huxley in Cheshire, Engeland, wat "Hucca se opruiming" in Oud-Engels beteken.
